Chris Ferguson is a seasoned expert in government affairs and regulatory policy with a focus on the cannabis industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy at Verano since December 2022, he plays a key role in shaping legislative strategies and driving new business initiatives. His work is supported by a deep understanding of policy development, process improvement, and leadership. Before joining Verano, Chris held pivotal roles at the Florida Department of Health, where he was Director of the Office of Medical Marijuana Use and oversaw statewide enforcement.

Throughout his twelve years at the Florida Department of Health, Chris honed his expertise in navigating complex government regulations, legislative affairs, and public policy. As Director, he led the state’s regulatory oversight of medical marijuana, shaping policies and enforcing compliance standards. His previous roles, including Bureau Chief of Enforcement and Assistant Chief of Investigative Services, further strengthened his ability to develop policies and lead investigative efforts across the state. Chris’s career reflects a strong commitment to regulatory excellence and effective policy leadership.
